I'm an apprentice buying my first proper scissor — what should I get?

Start with the Young Genius ($250). I'm left-handed. Which scissor is actually built for me?

It depends where you're at. If it's your first serious scissor, go Young Genius Left-Handed ($250); if you're already working and want one do-it-all pair, go Geisha Left-Handed ($395). Both have blade geometry genuinely forged for the left hand — the cut, the ride line and the feel are all correct, not a right-hander turned over. My thumb feels locked in one position all day — is there a scissor built differently?
