Who SlicePay is for
SlicePay is for licensed Australian hair industry professionals — apprentices in years 1–4, working hairdressers, salon owners, and barbers. We verify by one of:
- Active hairdressing apprenticeship (year of card)
- Salon ABN registered for hair services
- Salon street address + employer phone we can verify
- Trade-school enrolment letter
If you don't have any of the above yet, you can still order standard checkout — Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit card, all the usual options. SlicePay is the optional weekly-instalment path for the trade.
Common questions
Is there interest?
No. Zero. The 10% deposit + 20 weekly payments add up to exactly the sticker price. We absorb the cost of running SlicePay because the trade buys repeat over a 15-year career.
Is there a deposit or sign-up fee?
Yes — a small 10% deposit upfront, charged via Square at checkout. After that, 20 equal weekly payments cover the remaining 90%, starting 7 days later. 0% interest, no admin fee, no application fee.
What if I miss a payment?
The card on file retries automatically over the next 3 days. If it still fails, we contact you directly to reschedule. We don't sell missed-payment debt to a collections agency. We are a working scissor business — we treat the trade like the trade.
Can I pay it off early?
Yes, any time. Email us at matt@sheargenius.com.au and we'll close the plan with no penalty.
Do I get the scissor straight away or after I've paid it off?
Straight away. Order ships within 24 hours of approval (sharpened, tensioned, warrantied), and you start using it on Monday clients while paying off over the next 20 weeks.
Can I bundle multiple items into one SlicePay plan?
Yes. Add everything to cart first, then click APPLY FOR SLICEPAY at checkout. The plan covers your full cart: 10% deposit at checkout, then the remaining 90% across 20 equal weekly payments.
Why is this only for the hair industry?
Because the SlicePay programme depends on being able to verify professional credentials. Generic BNPL companies (Afterpay, Zip, Klarna) charge merchant fees we'd have to pass on as 4–6% higher prices to everyone. SlicePay keeps prices honest by limiting access to the trade we know and serve.
