Matt Grumley runs a fortnightly mobile sharpening rotation through Prahran, South Yarra, Windsor, Toorak and Armadale so the scissors driving those chairs never go more than two weeks past their service window.

Matt visits Prahran salons fortnightly. Booking pattern: a salon either commits to a recurring slot (every other Tuesday) or books one-off as needed via the booking page. Most premium Chapel Street rooms run on the recurring schedule because the cost of a chair sitting idle to swap scissors mid-shift is higher than a sharpening invoice.

A grinder restores the edge. A scissorsmith restores the scissor — pivot torque, tension, bumper, alignment, edge. premium steel like ATS-314 holds a hand-finished convex edge much longer than a machine-ground equivalent edge.
