Anatomy of the Scissor
What makes a Sheargenius blade hold an edge for months while the cheap pairs need a grind every fortnight.
Hitachi ATS-314 forged in Seki, Japan — the same valley that has produced master swords for 700 years. Hand-hardened in stages, never quenched fast, never compromised.
HRC 60–62. Soft enough to hone razor-fine, hard enough to hold an edge for months of professional use. Cheaper alloys land at 56 — they need a grind every fortnight.
Dual-bearing flat-screw system. Fingertip-adjustable, holds tension through ten thousand cuts. No play, no rattle, no slow drift over a long day.
Convex hollow-ground, finished by hand to a 0.3-micron polish. Glides through wet or dry hair without push. Inspected by Matt before it ships.
